JUNIOR PRESENTATION NIGHT - 2009

On Tuesday, 23rd June the Junior Section of The Thistle Society (Scottish Country Dance Group) held their Presentation Night at the Atrium in the Town Hall, Wigan. The Deputy Mayor Councillor Henry Cadman and Deputy Mayoress - Mrs. Sheila Cadman, Parents, Guests and friends enjoyed the evening when trophies, medals and certificates were awarded to the boys and girls. Some of these were gained for events, activities and effort throughout the year, for their dancing exams and for the Arts and Crafts Festival in Liverpool. At the end of this the children presented their teachers with beautiful flower arrangements.

After the refreshments the children provided a varied programme of entertainment and the opportunity for all present to take part in some of the dancing.

The term ended with a party night when the youngsters had great fun with games and activities, parents organising the eats.

The dance group starts again at Trinity United Reformed Church, Milton Grove, Wigan Lane, Wigan on Tuesday 8th September at 6.30pm. Boys and girls between 5 and 15years would be most welcome. Just come along or ring 01942 247403 or 01942 861539 for further information.
